Sky Sports and Sky Entertainment in HD - just £40 a month

Good afternoon

I'm looking to get my dad (existing customer) onto this deal and just wanted to know if there are any hidden costs for existing customers and if it would be possible to do it on chat (dad suffers with deafness).
Many thanks.

I think it means getting Sky Q if you have not got it. More info here....

    https://www.sky.com/shop/offers/flash-sale/?DCMP=knc-GOOGLE-nc-DTH-sky+entertainment&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0Knr6-ar3QIVQbTtCh2VlQYzEAAYASAAEgICCPD_BwE

You will see it also says '18 month minimum terms for Sky Entertainment and Sky Sports. Set-up fees apply'
  • It doesn't specify Q but I will give 'chat' a go and see what they say.
I'm assuming the set up fee will be the usual £10 or £20 that seems to apply when trying to negotiate a new deal.

If you scroll down the link in post 2 you will get more information but hopefully 'chat' will, by now, have sorted it out for you.
  • It doesn't specify Q .
It clearly states "Sky Q included"
  • Sorry I was hoping Sky Q wasn't necessary for existing customers. It only says 'this box is provided as standard for new customers' not existing. I'm struggling to get on chat. When I've done my own deals I've always gone the cancellation route which allows you to chat but that no longer seems an option.
Anybody know the best way to chat?

This offer is only available to customers who don't have any HD or Sports already.

They need to upgrade to Entertainment with HD add-on and Sports in HD to get this offer, otherwise the HD Sports pack is £2 per month and they get the basic channels in HD for free for 18m.

The offer is available to current customers. You can have HD and Sport already. You don't have to change to Sky Q.
The offer does require a new 18 month contract and there is a £10 one-off charge.
I took up the offer last month by phone.

I ought to add to my previous post that Entertainment is not the same package as the previous Variety package - eg Box Sets and Kids are not included in it but are separate add-ons. (HD is also charged differently but is included in the special offer.)

Variety didn't include boxsets, you needed Boxsets (surprisingly :) ) to include that.

Disclaimer: unless there was some legacy Variety package that did include it. This is why Sky are eager to move people on to Entertainment. Although that said people paying full whack for the legacy packages could be paying way more than they should. The full price for my Boxsets on HD+ is £39.35.

Perhaps Sky aren't that eager after all :(

Sorry, I didn't word it correctly. I was on the original package and Sky changed it to Variety, Kids, Box Sets etc without actually telling me. The OP's question was about an "original" package so I was trying to point out that the offer didn't include everything he might be getting at the moment. Sky bills are not very clear when it comes to what is included and what happens to be free from an offer. (I don't know exactly what Variety contains as opposed to the various extras.)
If you don't want Kids and/or box sets, the savings over "Original" are in fact even better with the offer. I opted out of Kids when accepting the offer and saved an extra £5 per month.
