What in people’s opinion is the cheapest Energy Supplier now that Iresa is gone?

On comparison sites, I am getting Bulb, but when I look at tariffs, Pure Planet is the cheapest I can find and that includes the daily charge and their new tariff rates, applicable from October.

There is no single cheapest energy supplier.
If there were, there would be no need for comparison sites.

Consult a comparison site to find the best deal for you.
Separate suppliers are often the cheapest option currently (something we all used to have in years gone by ;))
If you are finding Bulb as the cheapest, then you are probably not doing it correctly, (and that's before their impending price rise indicated due for Novemebr) so give the comparison site a call instead.

Remember Bulb Energy is a variable tariff, and MSE are indicating you should fix as prices are rising.

Looks like somone is on a mission here ...

Iresa were always the cheapest, okay they did go bust due to complaints.

I have been on all the comparison sites and Bulb came out the cheapest. Although that is incorrect as Pure Planet are cheaper.

I believe comparison sites are not accurate as they fail to include suppliers that do not pay them commission.

    Congratulations!

I've never read so much crock and double talk on this site before.

Is this really what MSE has now become?

Fortunately, I won't be reading any more of your posts and I urge other MSEers to do likewise.

    Added.

Iresa wasn't cheapest for me, nor was bulb. Last year I joined Tonik, bulb was £1pm dearer and Iresa about the same. I've now joined White Rose - bulb was £2.50 pm dearer (even including the discount), and I much prefer fixed deals. The tariff I joined on, has closed to new sign upsand their latest one isnt as cheap.

So your question is pointless because what might be cheapest for you, may not be for someone else. Also tariff offers can be time limited so what may be cheap a week ago might no longer be open to joining.

Eversmart Energy were cheaper than Bulb and they were offering fixed tariffs, unlike Bulbs possible soon to rocket variable.. They have vanished from Uswitch the last couple of weeks .Separate gas and electric was marginally cheaper for me yesterday when I checked but not by much.
  • Definitely where you live, other than Bulb, British Gas's online tariffs always come out best for me which has always surprised me as I'd like to move away from them, but they always win..

Bulb became much less competitive with their recent price rise (which is already on the comparison sites for new customers and has been for a week or so) but if you're thinking of switching to them, you should factor in the referral scheme.

As annoying as it is to have bulb link spammers !!!!!!!! up every thread they come across, it's still cash back in your pocket at the end of the day. There are people on the official referral thread who will offer you up to £35 of their £50 in return for using their code, so that's £85 for joining or £7 a month off the bill.

Or switch to another company, I don't care I don't have a link to spam. In the end, I decided to stick with E.ON because they came out (for just 7 days in the end) with a tariff that matched bulb to a few pence even with the bonus.
