Collective Switching

Has the concept of Collective Switching ceased?
e.g you can sign up for one here
https://app.ichoosr.com/enuk/ichoosr/home
you should then get a personal quote by 19 Oct 2018, and have until 27 Nov 2018 to decide whether or not to accept that offer. Will MSE do another Collective Switch?
Whether such collective tariffs will ever beat the best of market alternatives is another question and one that MSE has previously indicated is unlikley.
So use a comparison site and find the best deal for you.
I saw on a comparison site today a tariff advertised as not available direct from the supplier ... although possibly not a true collective tariff, and certainly was not the cheapest for me.0 -
Thanks both of you.
Am with Eversmart (no problems to date) until 29 Sept, which is still cheapest. Issue is that their new tariff is variable as opposed to fixed and £6 month more. However using MSE's Cheap Energy Club comparator, I could then save £6 per month by switching to Bulb variable. Cheapest fixed is Breeze, but that would cost me £6 p/m more. Think I will roll the dice and stick with Eversmart.
Is the market perceived to be still rising?
None have early exit fees, so could see what turns up with any of them.0 -

If you provide your annual usage details (in kWh) and supply region (or fisrt part of your postcode), I'm sure there will be a better alternative to Bulb, which as you have said is also a varaible tariff. Are you aware they have also indicated they are likely to raise prices again in November?

MSE recommends you fix now. (depending on oncost if any)
Whilst no early exit fees may sound attractive to switching later if the supplier raises their prices, be aware that the fixed tariff available today will probably not be available later if prices are still rising.
Edit:
Eversmart's fixed tariff (Welcome Home) was available up until 05-Sep-2018. Perhaps you should have grabbed it whilst it was available to you?
Edit2: Looks like someone is on a mission...

Am in HA8 postcode
I did email eversmart 25/8 about my contract end - no reply.
I phoned eversmart 30/8 and they advised they had no fixed tariff on offer! Couldn't see it on MSE either.
Just have to go away on even more holidays to keep my energy usage down....0 -

Probably - it's a great money spinner for MSE :money:Whether such collective tariffs will ever beat the best of market alternatives is another question and one that MSE has previously indicated is unlikley.
Looks like they are not, but MSE have not been so forthcoming this time.
So you need to do your own maths.
Save £280 over 18 months (or just £250 over 18 months with the second option) ...
Or save £360+ over 12 months

All based on the cost of a typical user on a Big 6 standard tariff
Decisions, decisions ...:cool:0 -

No likely about it, prices at Bulb ARE going up in November for existing customers, although anyone who gets a quote now gets the hiked prices with immediate effect, but then won't change again unless Bulb announce another round of changes.
They might do that of course, but it would be commercial suicide IMHO. I'd be reasonably confident the price they quote now won't change for at least four months, probably six depending if we have another winter like the last one.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day).
