Bradford & Bingley PPI Claim

Options
Morning all,
I was sold a mortgage by Bradford and Bingley in the mid 1980's .
I have details of this mortgage and was wondering what are the first steps to apply for a PPI claim/refund?
B and B are now no more , does this make a claim more difficult?.
Any advice or help would be great .

Cheers

The "first step" should be to ascertain if you actually had any PPI. Payment Protection Insurance policies were rare in the mid-eighties, only becoming widespread in the nineties. So, do the mortgage details you have show any PPI? If not, you can be certain no one else will still have records of your three decade old finance.

MPPI was a minority product in the 80s. It existing from early to mid 80s but wasnt used much until the early 90s.

The dominant product for mortgages in the 80s was life assurance.

The other issue is that until the Building Societies Act 1986, many building societies didn't sell their own insurance. They used a local broker firm. The broker would even see clients in the building society branch.

    So, did you have MPPI?
Was it sold by the building society or a local agent?
What are you reasons for complaint?
What evidence do you have to support your complaint?
