I guess they are both in their 20's...maybe after Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks? ;):) The ex-h was called Antony after late mil saw the Antony & Cleopatra film when pregnant :D

    Morning all

Had a really good sleep last night ( I was completely shattered after work) and have slept like a log all night :j so feel very refreshed.

Cleaner came yesterday and went right through in the two hours, I messaged her to say thank you and she said it went very well, so I am hopeful that she will manage it each week, I must say its very lovely indeed to come home from an exhausting day to a spotless house, to me its so worth the money.

We are going to try and have a bbq tonight on the new patio but it kind of depends on the weather we have had a few spots of rain this morning and it does tend to get cooler in the evenings, OH wants to try though so we shall see.

Washing is in the wm and Im going to get OH to put the washing line back up so I can hang it outside :T

Ive got to go shopping and get food for the week and then the weekend is ours :D

Have fun and take care folks xx

    Morning everyone
I've had a busy week back at work....it's surprising how quickly you get back to 'normal.' It was chilly here too this morning...I had a big cardi on to go for my little bit shopping. My washing lines are full and towels still waiting to go out...I'll get the ironing done this afternoon. I'm going to go down to my mam and dad's soon....then I'll get the afternoon to myself! Could do with having a potter round the garden and doing some dead-heading but also 'need' to read my book!
Hope everyone has a good day
  • Good afternoon people  -

I'm still trying to get to grips with the various names/people on here, but I'd like to send ((((Healing Hugs)))) and prayers to everybody who needs them.

Two loads of laundry done this morning before I noticed that the weather is 'not very kind' - so it will have to be dried on the airer and radiator racks.

So pleased that I got the fleece jackets and showerproofs all sorted out before the summer started - definitely needed right NOW . Now need to 'round up' all the gloves / mitts / scarves / hats and get them put into the plastic drawers in the porch - exactly where they're needed when about to go out :j !

Just about to go out to visit the charity shop where I work - need to speak to my supervisor about changing my shifts, if possible. DD and DS2 need me for some regular weekly child-minding - and family commitments HAVE to come first .................. hoping that there's somebody who can swap with me :o.

Only need to buy ONE Red Bell Pepper for evening meal - let's see if I can keep it at that ;) :rotfl: !

Enjoy the rest of the day, everybody - hope we all get to spend it in the way that we WANT to :T!

    Hi everyone,
Its been raining hard all morning, think its in for the day.No cooking for me tonight,we're going round to our friends to eat later. DGc are here but will be going out shortly.
I will have to be careful eating as I had a really big filling at the dentists yesterday, sat in the chair of doom nearly 3/4 hr .I thought I was ok but could feel my hands shaking :o,our lovely dentist we've had for 30 odd years has retired so it was s.o. I'd never met before who did it.I'd had the check up the previous day and they had a cancellation, better than waiting for the next appts in November ! The dentist said it might not be her who did the filling, but a technician, she did a good enough job but I was a bit nervous- we were on 1st name terms with our old dentist
continuing love and hugs to the Ta's,Poppy xx
How's your knee coming on Olliebeak-hope it's healing a bit quicker now.

  • What a great idea to put gloves in the porch :) my porch has a 'dolly-trolley' for shopping if I don't take my car and very little else I am due to get it tiled this autumn and I may ask my lovely builder to put a small shelf up in there which I can put a box on with gloves etc in,thanks for the brainwave Olliebeak.

You're right Floss they are both in their twenties ,never thought of the Cruse/Hanks connection :):) who'd have thunk eh :) Just sitting here knitting another of the blessed baby balls only another 34 to go :)

Bright and sunny here in Kent but a slight nip in the air as well,I too am trying to keep the heating off as long as possible Extra cardi's and a blankey over my knees will do at the moment

    right, back to my knitting

    JackieO xx

My sincere apologies, it may be me who has put the mockers on the weather.

I mentioned to Mr Wolf last night that I'd like to get the tatty hypericums chopped down today, plus some other outdoor tidying - and obviously the Weather Spirits heard me, and said "Ha! That's what she thinks!" :D

Mr Wolf duly bottled out of coming with me for Honey's walk; he's a wimp who hates getting wet. Honey was very good though, and was happy to be toweled down and have her little paws wiped when we got home.

The week's gone quick; Honey will be going home tomorrow. :(

Rosyred, I've never heard of a technician doing a filling before, I don't think I'd be very happy with that. I hope it's all ok now.

    Afternoon all.

I've just arrived back home again :j Did DM's shopping this morning, picked up some of my favourite wine from MW as it's being discontinued :( so am now stocked up for winter.

After her initial outing with they physios on Thursday DM has been great. Think her confidence was hugely restored when she 'conquered' the stairs. Yesterday we did a little promenade to the end of her street which was brilliant. She did recognise that she's not ready for the bimble round the supermarket yet, perhaps next week. For the first time since 25 June her bedroom TV has been pushed back to the wall. :j

Nelski - be firm! There's no need for you to be gazing too... drinking tea / coffee and reading is much more productive and relaxing.

Csarina - do you have a blue badge for yourself or OH? From what you've said you may be eligible for it. It's a long old form (online) though a welfare worker from the city council came to DM's to complete it on her behalf. £20.00 to the council for the badge.

I'm so excited about SCD starting again tonight. I aim to be wrapped up snugly with a glass of wine in my hand. I've so much work to do on Sunday, stuff I've just put off for ages.

Tonight I've got chicken thighs roasting in the oven so I'll have one with salad and coleslaw. Everything is unpacked and put away apart from the stuff for upstairs. I bought a couple more new long sleeved Tshirts for base layers. Whilst it's not yet too cold I want to be ready for it.

I hope that everyone is coping well.
