What have I done to my car?????

I overfilled diesel into my car...
It overfilled some diesel out ....
I have now cleaned the fuel out....
But is there any damage to my car/fuel tank/engine???
Please help!!!!!

We'll need to know firstly whether it's a diesel or petrol fuelled car.

It is a diesel.
2009 Corsa 1.3 ctdi
No DPF.

Yes and it spill out diesel too

What can I do to fix now???? Go somewhere and quickly burn off couple litre of fuel????

So let's get this right, you filled up with diesel until it spilt out?

Only damage might to be to the paintwork where the diesel ran down. No idea why you might think this would damage the engine.

Filling the tank up completely is not going to cause any problems, I do it every time I fill up and have been ever so I started driving diesel cars, over 23 years.

Did it run onto the brakes? You'd want to use brake cleaner on the discs and pads if so.

That 10% air space is to allow for room for expansion of the diesel when it warms up. Without it, there is a risk that diesel will spill on to the road via the tank vent pipes.
