Barclaycard Platinum - Aesthetics

Just a general aesthetics question.
Up until recently I had a Barclaycard Gold card - looked gold.
I was told I was being upgraded to Platinum by post. Fair enough.
However, when it arrived it didn't look anything like Platinum in colour. It was white (like the Barclaycard simplicity cards). Didn't have platinum written on it or anything.
I phoned up and got them to send again but then arrived another completely white card.
They eventually told me that their Platinum cards now are not Platinum in colour, but white.
Is this really the case?
Anyone else had this experience of getting new cards through the post not being what they say they are regarding Barclaycard Platinum?
Cheers..

Just received mine under the £50 high street voucher offer. It's a shaded grey card, but it does have "Platinum" written on it.0

Really does no favour to your street cred. How on earth can you pose with a white card. Sorry just not on!0 -

Same here. I hadn't noticed that it was white/grey instead of silver. However, I have only used it once and online to qualify for the freebie, so my street cred' and coolness are undamaged. I'm still waiting for my red Abbey one, though. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

You should receive a black Abbey card instead of a red one if your last one was a platinum.I know nothing0 -

It was a new application for the new 5% supermarket cashback one. IIRC I got a choice of four. To be honest, I only picked the red one as it is the same colour as the Abbey logo and is so different to my other ones: I need to be careful that I use the right card in the right place. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
CARD SNOBS!!!!
Never have I heard such a thing .... but you lot are mainly card snobs.
Crikey ... I mean - how proud can you BE when you aren't even flush enough to pop out a pile of readies on demand??0 -
it is for my assistants to lug suitcases full of cash around when I go shopping. Spare a thought for them.PasturesNew wrote: »CARD SNOBS!!!!

Unfortunately they don't display the available colours without going through the application process. Was there shocking pink?Stephen_Leak wrote: »It was a new application for the new 5% supermarket cashback one. IIRC I got a choice of four.
