Can you take a small dog on the train and tube?

We have a small dog (king chares spaniel) and wondered if we can take it on a train, and the tube? Never thought about it before....

I used to take my hound (dalmation sized) on the underground when attending 'Discover Dogs'. It was a bit more of a challenge when buses were used to replace the train! and an even bigger challenge when the lift was out of order and I had to lug 18kgs of dog up an escalator!

My dog loved all the attention and quite a few folk couldn't quite believe their eyes to see a dog asleep on her blanket after a long day working on a charity stand. Happy memories
