Sky and Plusnet passing the buck

I got what looked like a pretty good deal to move to Sky from PlusNet, but the transfer has been set up to go through 2 days before my 18 months are up. Sky say they can't change the date because PlusNet control it, PlusNet say Sky have to change it.
Sky have offered to cancel and re-process the order, but it's going to take another big bite out of my work day to get that done.
The whole process is pretty rubbish.

and another 20 minutes on the phone to a different agent. he said cancelling and re-processing the order would risk me being left without broadband and I should get back to PlusNet with questions about the charges.
It's definitely more trouble than it's worth, but I might be eligible to claim switch credit which looks like being a sensible way forward.
Maybe I should have remembered that PlusNet could be early termination charges, but I think it's ridiculous when there's just 2 days left on the contract.
I think it would be helpful for Sky (and other ISPs) got you to put in your end date and made sure they didn't set up a transfer before then, but nobody is going to make transfers easy for us.0 -
If you migrated 2 days before the end of a 18 month minimum , the ETC's would be very small, so what's the problem ?
As far as dates, it's the gaining provider (Sky) that are responsible , not the provider you are leaving (Plusnet) , when you called Sky, you should have given then a 'not before' date,if it was that important to you, but , if it's a few days before the minimum term expires it would be a couple of ££ ETC, and if it were a couple of days after the minimum term expires , you pay the full month (depending on your billing date) and get a refund for the days you paid for but were with Sky, so either way it's hardly worth worrying about.0 -

If it was only a couple of quid I wouldn't be bothered, but PlusNet are asking about £25 to leave a couple of days early. I thought I might forfeit a day or two, but £25 is taking the Fosters.0 -

As I understand it, a move away from Plusnet (on the BT Wholesale network) to Sky (on their own LLU network ) triggers the cease charge (£30?)REGARDLESS of whether in or out of contract -this is in addition to any time based service charges.:(0
