I lost my Popla appeal , what do I do now? Final notice has been served.
We knew you probably would, as POPLA cannot uphold an appeal on the basis of a minor keying error and the PPC will say they offered to settle at £20, and that opportunity has now gone.
That's why the first reply you got was:Pay £20 to end it now might be a pragmatic solution for you. PE will have incurred some costs so far in making contact with you and will want some recompense for that.
On the other hand, you might take a principled stance and refuse their offer to settle, but you will need to win an appeal at POPLA (incorrect VRM input, no matter how minor, won't win your appeal at POPLA) to kill off the charge.
If you lose your POPLA appeal, you'll be faced with up to 6 years of potential hassle from debt collectors (ignorable), or the receipt of court proceedings (not ignorable) from PE, which will require a good deal of work by you, then a court hearing, which you might win and pay nothing, or if you lose look at having to pay ~£175 in costs.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Heard you lost the popla appeal/challenge.
You are under no obligation to pay, even with a loss at popla
whose car park was this?
From my understanding, a miss key of a reg number should not be pursuedFrom the Plain Language Commission:

The above already tells you what happens next.
I'm sorry but just about every thread here tells us to fight this, it maybe a costly mistake by me but I'm willing to give it a go0 -

I don't see anyone telling you not to fight ... it's just that you are now at the waiting game stage, waiting to see if P.E. do take this to court.
What I take from the recent replies you have here, as well as all the other threads which you've obviously read too, is that judges tend to take a dim view of PPCs who take people to court on the basis of incorrectly entered VRNs. So while there could be a fair bit of work ahead for you at some point, it probably would be worth fighting.0
