TA, I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm glad you've got such good support from your family.
There are quite a few people missing from the thread lately, it went from really busy to quiet. Elona, Cranky and Tru don't seem to have posted for a while.
Hurrah - I've finished the hungry caterpillar quilt, all bar hand sewing the binding. A lot of people machine sew both sides of the binding but I can never seem to get the front neat enough so I hand sew the back of the quilt. I enjoy it and it doesn't take long when you're watching tv.
Life is still very quiet here although we are planning to go up to the Yorkshire house next week for a few days. Chris and Crystal are going to Croatia as well and I'd half promised to have their cat but we want to go off to Kent as well to do some walking so I think she'll have to go to Crystal's mum.
Laura's Brian has had quite a few job interviews this week so fingers crossed he gets one of them soon. He's had nine months away from working and Ithink he's raring to go again.0 -
Morning everyone,
I’m so sorry that the news wasn’t better from the Oncologist TA, I really hope that the Marie Curie hospice nurse can help and give you further support. Thinking of you all x
Back to normal after a day at the coast yesterday, lots of walking and eating so we slept well.
Take care folks and have a good day x0 -
 Good Morning everybody
((((HUGS)))) for all who need them - especially for TA and family. Sorry to hear about Mr TA's situation and sending positive wishes.
After yesterday's 'mighty spending spree', I vowed not to be spending anything for at least a week - BUT .................. last night I lost my 'sniffy stick' (aka Olbas Inhaler Stick) and spent hours looking for it. How on earth can one of those things just grow legs and walk in the space of half an hour? Will have to get another one today - at the moment, I'm rather lost without it !
Back to the hospital again today for a Physio Appointment - think I've only got one more left after this one :j .
DD starts College next week - and she needs me to 'supervise' DGS2 (age17 with ASD/ADHD/ADD etc) for two days each week.
DS2 also needs me to look after DGS5 (age2) asap for one day each week.
I HAD been hoping to get back to my Charity Shop shifts in a couple of weeks, but it looks as though those will have to be re-negotiated with the supervisor  !
Salad for evening meal today - OH can have omelet and chips with his, and I'll have Roast Pork.0 -
Hello again :hello:
I've had a cup of tea and feel a bit more human now after only getting a couple of hours sleep over the past few days. The problem is I turn into a giant toddler complete with meltdowns when I don't get enough sleep and little problems turn into big problems. I have nothing planned for today however so I will try and grab another couple of hours later.
I finished my knitted halloween wreath yesterday and it looks great even if I say so myself. I need another project now so will have a look through all the various magazines I have to find something interesting.
I'm going to ask Phoebe to make a sausage and butter bean casserole for tea tonight. It's very simple to make so she should manage it with no problems. Other than that, Lee is going to give Bobby a bath as he smells and is very itchy so I will take the opportunity to wash the dog's bedding. That should hopefully have the knock on effect of making the living room smell fresher too.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Good morning everyone,
So I've got a phone interview on Friday afternoon!! It's at 4.30 unfortunately, meaning I need to wait and think about it all day. Nothing formal, just an informal chat for now. Happy days!
In the meantime, I've got TGWF coming over tonight in advance of our trip to London at the weekend. She needs to leave stuff here to make the trip easier and without arousing suspicion with work colleagues. I'm making some chicken tikka type thing.
My back is on the mend and slowly off the painkillers too.
TA - That's awful news and I'm so sorry to hear. I've no words.
Snoozer - Any pictures...?0 -
Speky, I'll try to post some when I've finished the binding.
If anyone's interested I've got some on Instagram, pm me and I'll send you my account name.0 -
So sorry Mrs TA, such a sad time for you. You have done everything possible to support your husband and I know you will go on doing so. Perhaps gently try to limit visitors. At one stage I had about a dozen relatives trying to see my husband when he was in critical care , all too much.
I am not feeling very good on this medication but is a 3 week cycle with a week off so roll on next Tuesday. A busy few days with family and friends coming up , need to find some energy from somewhere.0 -
Good Morning everyone and many hugs for Mrs TA and Mr TA Devastating news for you both .Accept as much help as you can, when our brave Frank was fighting it, his wife Margaret had the MacMillan nurses coming in four times a day plus a twilight one so she could try to get some sleep. She is 84 bless her .She used to sleep on the sofa as his bed was put up in the sitting room. You also have to try and make sure you eat properly and get your rest
You have a very tough few months ahead honey, and I know how hard things will be ,but take one day at a time and relish every minute you can. Margaret said her and Frank talked more in his last few months than they had over the previous 62 years of their marriage.
I shall be thinking of you both and remembering you in my chats to The Big Guy before I go to sleep, God Bless you both on your journey xxx
We are all here sending our best wishes to our 'virtual ' friends I'm sure as the 'family ' of MSE is a close one and we try to send comfort and good wishes when our chums are going through a bad time in their lives .
Today the weather has perked up quite a bit, and the rain has gone, and the sun has come back
I am going to treat myself to a CBA day today ,definitely a feet up and do bu$$er alljust because I can
mindless tv and knitting some more of those blessed baby balls 6 down, only another 35 to go,
DGS Henry was a bit poorly yesterday which was so unlike him. He has been waking up feeling nauseous for the past few weeks it wears off by lunchtime but t means he has stopped eating breakfast and its just not like him not to have a breakfast before school So I took him to the Drs yesterday and he's given him some anti sickness pills and he has to have one last thing at night before sleep. Hopefully these will work ,but the Dr didn't seem to have a clue what it was When he went to Alton Towers on Monday he had to get up at 4.00.a.m. and had a banana, but by 7 he started feeling a bit yukky Seems its always around 7 ish when he is feeling crook, weird as he is normally a very healthy chap,we will hae to wait and see how he is .
Right time for a cuppa Hope you all have a good day and <<hugs>> to those who are in need of one
Take care chums

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
I am so sad to hear the TA's news, I know you will get support here as well as from your family. Limiting visitors is a good idea, especially if Mr TA is not feeling too good. It is only natural that people want to see him, but they need to be aware are the stress that too many visitors can bring.
I think about you every day.........
Bright morning, but cold. CA here to get OH up, will be having a drink shortly and then getting him out for a short walk. We have someone from the SS coming today to do an assessment for further care.
Dentist visit was to check the tooth, he is to have it out, but had to wait till the 11th October!! I managed to get to Aldi and do my shopping whilst he was in, so saved myself a journey this morning.
Mac cheese for supper, jacket spud with tomato and celery salad. Our tomato's have almost finished, I have had to freeze a couple of bags for tomato sauce.0 -
I'm so sorry to hear your devastating news TA .I know you will cherish the next few months with him, and you are both in my prayers :A"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
