Nail polish not as described

I bought the following nail polish from a firm called Rainbow Connection. It is described as follows:

"The Magician makes use of an ultra-rare pigment whose incredibly vibrant and versatile properties have won the hearts of many over the years. Better known as “Unicorn Pee” among those in the nail polish community, this pigment is considered one of the holy grails among nailistas.

In the bottle, The Magician appears somewhat subtle and quaint however, this couldn’t be further from the truth! The Magician effortlessly shifts between intense hues of red, orange, and green once applied over just about any base color.

One of the most treasured aspects about the ultra-rare pigment used in The Magician is the way it works its magic without overwhelming your base color. This gives you the opportunity to create super unique color combinations of your own as well as bring to life any manicure with a single stroke!"

It was nothing like this description, it was more like any cheap sparkly top coat I can get for peanuts in any high st shop.

Their t & c state clearly that you cannot return the product unless it is damaged. It was not damaged, just not as described.

I think they are contravening the The Consumer Contracts Regulations - which came into force on 13 June 2014 but would like other people's views before I contact them

Thanks for reading and sorry for the long post.

Never buy from a site giving no address or phone number.

You bought off the internet equivalent of a man in a trechcoat at the side of the road.

Sorry but I doubt you are going to get anywhere.
  • When did you buy, how did you pay and how much was the item?

I would doubt it is genuine unicorn pee, these rip-off sites tend to use okapi pee, zebra pee or even Thomson's gazelle pee.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

I can't stand the constant use of 'super' on a good day, but when someone slams it in front of 'unique', you know they're going to be be charlatans and fools of the highest order.

The product is very nice, just not quite as described.

That doesn't mean that Rainbow Connection have a physical presence in the UK.
The goods could have been sent from a warehouse or distribution centre, one that might send out goods for many different companies.
