Hi all
just trying to work out how much one should pay for estate agents - to market and sell a Semi at around £650k
Is 1 percent dream world or have people got it for less?

Depends where you are but 1% sounds about right for that amount, that's what I paid last year.0
-
Less than 1% is feasible. Depends how quickly it's likely to sell and how much you expect the agent to do. Also be aware of any fixed charges on top.0

1% is pretty typical in my corner of Surrey.
There are some who would do it for less, although whether they are firms you'd want to use is a different matter!0 -
Try to negotiate down to 0.75%, you have nothing to lose. If the EA thinks it's an easy sale, then that's still £4,875 earned. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Going rate?
Going down, with all the online competition.0 -
I paid 0.9% in Essex. Lower value house0
-
We paid 0.5% in Sussex0
-
We got down to 0.75% from several EAs in Glasgow.0
-
remember - its usually quoted as plus VAT
Most will negotiate on this. But remember you want them to push the sale of your house so getting it cheaper than other houses that your agent is also selling is not always a good thing0
