HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to quickly and automatically perform several troubleshooting tasks.

    Worked for me!
    Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, the software you mention is the exact one that caused my CPU usage to go up and effectively 'freeze' my PC when I downloaded it.
Selling off the UK's gold reserves at USD 276 per ounce was a really good idea, which I will not citicise in any way.

PS I have tried to return this PC to PC World, but they refused.

How old is this computer? Did it have Windows 8 on it when you bought it in the first place?
And if its a software issue which it sounds like then that is not covered under any warranty whatsoever.

That HP printer is listed as working out of the box in Windows 10 and you shouldn't need to download anything for it. In fact that F1280 you've given us isn't even a combi printer, its just a standard printer and A3 at that.
