Add a checked in luggage after a paid for Jet2 flight?

Options
Hi,

(1) Can I add a checked in luggage after I have booked and paid for a Jet2 flight? I am talking like a few days before departure in case I find that I may exceed the 10kg hand luggage allowance.

(2) If the answer to the above is Yes, how much will the cost be?

Thank you.

The easiest way to find out is to go to the Manage my Booking section of the Jet2 website, enter your surname and booking reference number.

The cost will vary by route but expect to pay around £25 each leg for 22kg.

If you booked via an agent, you may need to get them to add the luggage for you.

    Hi Gloomendoom,

One of my colleague told me that they have done this. They just called up Jet2 customer service to add and pay for the hold luggage. Said it was easier than doing it online. That's what I will do.

    Thanks.

It's not a fixed price. It's cheapest to do when you first book then the cost increases the closer to departure you get. Up to about £45 if you leave it till you get to the airport.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I think it starts at about £22 per bag each way. I paid £27.50 per bag when I added them on about 3 weeks before we flew.

To be frank, I'm surprised you haven't been bombarded by weekly emails from Jet2 starting the day you booked and inviting you to pay for hold luggage, meals, seats, cabin baggage, airport parking, travel insurance, short breaks etc.

I booked my flights 11 months in advance and checked in online two days before my outward flight. The option to add hold luggage was still being offered.

it's usually pricey if you turn up at the airport over. coming back from Tenerife last month one of our cases was 23.5kg, 1.5kg over. Was told it would be about 60 euros to pay the excess, so we ended up taking out a pile of stuff and shoving it in hand baggage instead.

Good to know that the earlier the cheaper it is for purchasing hold luggage. Thanks.
