Easyjet delay/centauro late pick up fee

Hi, I've been impressed by the knowledge on this forum about airline compensation but my situation doesn't seem to have come up before.
Out late easyjet flight from Bristol to Alicante was made even later by a technical fault. This got us in a little over 2 hours after the rental car office was due to close and resulted in a £40 late pick-up fee. We think it's fair that easyjet reimburse us for this cost. We tried the online chat thing which slammed us straight into a brick wall. Any advice on what to do next please.
Incidentally we got delayed on the way home too, 4 hours this time. The compensation claim is already in for that one..

Alas, the airline are not responsible for any consequential losses, at least under regulation 261/2004.

Help please
Our easyJet flight to man from Tlv was cancelled as the plane coming to get us had to be diverted due to medical emergency
EasyJet put us up overnight and were put on another flight the next day
Firstly can get compensation easyJet say due to the medical emergency on the incoming flight they don’t have to
Second. The replacement flight was also delayed 3 hours
I have applied twice and been k Ickes back
