You need a customer facing experience to move up and really other than a few months in this job I don't have any of that if I am honest.

    self deprecating sweeping generalisation alert!!!!

    Just stop it phil!

you worked hard to get this job, focus on reviewing what you are doing and learning (ie what experience you are getting NOW) and stop worrying about the endless infinite number of possible future universes.

    Overtime will
    a) show you are willing to be flexible and
    b) give you a chance to get more experience

So just bloomin' well do it.

What sort of attitude is this Phil? The same could be applied to any other day, what's the point in working a Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday for £50 a day? might aswell just not work eh?

check out the (sunday worker's rights act 1994) as if you work in retail you may be able to opt out of sunday work ,this is why some employer's reward staff for working sundays , by giving extera payments. but remember your employer may not make up any contract hours that you would have been working .I was asked to sign a contract to include working every sunday ,i refused so they ended my contract its now going to a tribuneral .
