Lucky you can be so picky. Some others would be glad of that.:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

Trust me SP, in some jobs 'all day' is a lot more than 8 hours! I used to work a normal shift of 8 hours, but if I was working all day I would be there from 8am - 10pm! My brother is the same, when he works all night he goes in at 8pm and leaves at 8am.
It really depends on if you need the money. It could be £50 towards a deposit on your own place?! xGone ... or have I?0 -

So would I but I don't want to risk overloading myself with hours.:beer:0 -

That is a good point. If you think that it is going to be detrimental to your health, then I would agree that it is not worth it. However, I would add the caveat that no amount of money is worth sacrificing your health for xGone ... or have I?0 -
£50 x 50 weeks = £25000

Wish I had the choice
I work a six day week, no double time, no time and a half ...and I DO have to put my health second, as I attend night classes too!

Good advice. But, studentphil is a dodger-of-work.
He's young.
There is no excuse and many people at his age have held down 2-3 jobs working over 80 hours a week just to save for things or get ahead generally.
It really WON'T hurt him to do the extra hours to be honest. In fact, it would be beneficial health-wise as it would help him grow a backbone.0 -

I don't think any of us know enough about SP to state that. If SP has genuine health reasons for not wishing to do the extra hours (and being young is not a bar to having a health condition) then his consideration of a work/ life balance should be applauded, not derided.
I don't think SP is a 'dodger of work' anymore. In the past few months he has made positive efforts to get on in the workplace, and comments like the above are not constructive.Gone ... or have I?0
