So a driving licence with photograph, name DOB & address isn't proof she is who she says she is, but having access to bank sort code & account number is? How would they have access to her bank account details in the first place to have anything to confirm them against? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
The only reason to have bank account details is to access the account to remove money.
When have you seen your bank account details listed as a suitable form of identification for any purpose?
I suggest you contact Blue Motor finance yourself to confirm what the salesman is saying is correct.
Remember, he is in the business of selling cars and earning commission.0 -

As far as we are aware no credit check has been done on my partner, it's just been done on me. I'm guessing when the salesman originally put in for the finance he never mentioned me being a provisional driver because I was accepted at first.. he then rung back a couple of hours later and said there declining me for being a provisional driver.. I figured that doing it this way was going to cause problems like I say I'm going to wait until I pick it up and then look through the agreement thoroughly before committing to anything, another point to add is that the salesman has asked for her bank details just when i pick up the car.. that wouldn't give them any time to use them in a credit check or anything which surely if she was down as a gauruntor or anything they would need before approving? The whole situations confusing as hell
I would suggest your partner check by getting a credit report from Noddle or similar to heck for searches. She would not be accepted for finance without some sort of credit check.0 -
The only reason to get your partner's bank details and talk her through the paperwork is because she's the one taking out the finance.
The salesman may be hoping to switch payment details over to you later, bit you aren't the one who can apply for credit until you pass your test.0 -
Sounds like the dealer is setting up an accommodation deal:- don't do it, just wait until you've got a full licence.
