Hotmail query

I usually access my hotmail through the mail app on my iPad on a day to day basis. I have a number of folders set up and depending on the email, may move some of them to one of these folders. However, I have noticed that many of these folders are empty when I access them on my iPad. If I go into outlook on my computer, the emails are still in the folders, so what’s happening here? Incidentally, the same thing is happening to my husbands emails.

I cannot access my BT email spam folder on my iPad using the iOS email client but can by using other email software .

Thinks it's a quirk of the built-in one

You need to set the email client to "subscribe" to all the empty folders.

It may well be that the folders you're looking at are not being downloaded to the app. With most apps the only folders set to download by default tend to be just the inbox and sent folders, possibly trash as well.

As mentioned above you need to check the settings of the app to enable any other additional folders to be downloaded.

I’ve sorted it. I went into Settings- accounts and passwords- outlook- mail days to sync. It was set to 1 month ( my husbands was set to 1 week. I put both of them on No limit and all our emails reappeared. Thanks for replies
