I think it is the bleach in the tablets that does it.Very strong stuff.travelover0

There are different grades of stainless steel, some rust and some don't. Dunno why they're all called stainless
I tried googling but all I get is technical websites that I don't understand but I think the higher the chronium level, the less rust you'll get. Someone posted about this months ago but I can't find the thread

. I'm not saying it is down to glist I just feel ours was.
omg, ours are Glist too! Maybe its the tablets then!
Anyone have any recommendations of stuff to use? or is finish the best?0 -
philljp wrote:Hi all,
We have just moved into a house and bought a new dishwasher. However, i have started to notice bits of rust appearing on various metal ware, such as, cutlery and pots and pans. We are using dishwasher salt and glist 3-1 tablets. Does anyone else have this problem? and can someone shed some light as to why this is happening?
I think the problem is the pans, I think u'll find they're not meant to go in the dishwasher. I have the same problem wen I put something with rust already on it, in, like an older can opener or a sieve that goes rusty because I put it in the dishwasher wen I shudn't - but I swear by the motto why have a dog and bark yourself! And for some reason the cutlery is the only thing to suffer a quick brush with those metallic scrubs, not brillo, the swirly wiry things, sorry to be so vague, (they're in the supermarkets next to the sponges) cleans without scratching the cutlery.Jdubb0
