  • Well that’s £30 paid off the V card so it means my debt has gone down not up this month... may even be able to scrape a little more together before the end of the month. Hope so ...

  • Well it was a low spend day for me today, just had to get a few bits for work as it was a colleague’s birthday.

Delia is back to her happy little self and her eye is looking back to normal so that’s grand... I’m so happy we didn’t break our kitten!! ;)

Have just caught up on my ynab figures and got everything straight and...I am still in the black with my pots (ok most of them are now empty as it has been quite a spendy month but at least they are not in minus figures)

Will be building pots up again next month as it looks like it will be a financially quiet one. The bathroom will be done in the first full week of November and this is budgeted for... I can’t wait to join the 21st century with a fully functional bathroom in my house!! :j

  • Well thats it, the figures are in and I cannot pay off any more this month as I have run out of month!

A mixed bag this month, some good things happened - Delia being the main one, working hard on getting my mental health back on an even keel, sweeties are helping and I am starting to feel better than I have for a long while.
Some not so good things happened too... I overspent by about £300 on the credit card for some expected and some unexpected issues, balance transfer fees killed the rest of what I had paid off the cards so had to scrape together £30 to make sure the overall debt went down by the end of the month as I am determined that even on a bad month the BSN will move in the right direction.

YNAB is still working well for me, some pots raided but all sorted, budgeted and set up ready for November onslaught.

The final scores for this month are:

    BC - £9164.51
    M - £7786.99
    T - £6576.15
    V - £5166.32

Big Scary Number - £28,693.97

Plan for next month - stick to budget with no CC spend :A
I think I am going to try the PAD challenge and see what i can top up the debt payment fund by over the month without impinging on real life with limited means.

  • Well it was a low spend day today, 40p for a bag of crisps and £3.35 for dinner tonight, cheeky trip to get pizza in Costco with OH after work :D

Managed to send £2.30 to the overpayment pot tonight... do people build up their PAD’s before paying off a larger amount or do you make daily small payments off the card directly?

  • Well today had been quite spendy so far, £40 for the living room rug to be cleaned professionally to properly get rid of the dog smell etc, then had to go and pick up a harness and lead for Delia as she is allowed out from this weekend but we are going to be keeping her on a lead until after she has been spayed as we do not want 10 cats!!
Got home and tried harness on, didn’t fit- too big and faffy to get on her, took it back and exchanged it for a more simple one that is less stressful to get on her (and less painful for me!) also picked up some dry food for her and some free samples of kitten food both wet and dry that works out about £12 worth of free food - bit of a win!

Hoping that the rest of the day will not involve any expenditure and I will round down my account tonight to make my Pad

  • Thanks Abba, I will see how I get on and maybe pay the pot into the card on a weekly basis so I am not tempted too much.
Well the rest of today will be spend free as I am not going out again. Checked my bank and my monthly BC payment has gone out so that is good and I have sent the grand sum of £1.03 to my overpayment pot in YNAB from rounding down my spends account.

Tidy up the bank account every night and pay off a selected card every day. So roughly 30 payments to one card in any month:D Thats how I do it!

  • Well it was my Saturday in work today, spent £2.30 on a sausage barm and coffee. Had family meal with mum, sister, her hubby, my 2 nephews, my OH and DSD take away Chinese so £15 for that.
Pad for today will be £2.41. I have decided that I will move the monies to an overpayment category on ynab each day and pay off a card every time it reaches £10 in there.

Totally shattered, I think the clock change has really messed me up as it feels like it’s about 11.30pm and I keep waking up silly early...I am NOT a morning person at all!
