If that was the case, then surely the dimension would not be on there, as who on earth would want to know the dimension of under the arm???
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

But measurement 5 which is 20.5" is specifically stated as being "Seat height"

yes i agree , seems an error then
  • That's about 52cm, that's high but not ridiculously high.
If the sofa has removable feet, of wood or metal or plastic, then it should be pretty easy to increase the height. You'll want to make sure they pick sturdy replacement feet and once it's been done do not under any circumstances drag the sofa across the floor or move it without lifting the feet off the ground. The area where the feet screw or bolt into the frame is a weak point on any sofa, and longer feet means a great force is applied to that area when you drag it.

pinkshoes - I can vouch for the high quality of the Lounge Co sofas, we've sold quite a few at our place! The models shown on that list do have higher than average seats, but someone like OP will want to make sure they get a pretty firm seat as well.

  • Hate to be a black sheep, but you have to remember that DFS deliver MILLIONS of sofas a year, and all their sofas are handmade to order, it is physically impossible to create 2 sofas that are absolutely identical. So before you go online to slag off DFS try and look at the bigger picture!

It doesn't have to be absolutely identical but similar would be good.
If DFS can't manufacture something so that it's close to the specification advertised, maybe their standards need looking at.

The height of the cushions on the sofa that the OP received differ by almost 25% from the figure stated in their advertisement and if a company is that lax in their quality department, then maybe they need slagging off.

You don't by any chance work for DFS do you?

Ford make millions of cars a year. That doesn't mean it's acceptable to receive one with 25% fewer wheels than you expected.

Do you genuinely believe this? DFS do not offer a luxury bespoke service. Their products are not handmade in the sense that they should allow large tolerances of error because it's all handcrafted by upholstery experts who work by eye. I guarantee you there is a big ol' warehouse full of (at the very least) frames and component parts and fillings that are assembled to order, if there isn't a stack of their most popular items premade. The only thing I can say in their favour is that their advertising is clearly very effective! In any case the issue isn't that the sofas aren't absolutely identical. The issue is that their online measurements are wrong.
