Clearly you have previously had the double SDP included in your HB and possibly ESA or IS payments, it's now lost?

If this is correct then you and your partner are clearly both disabled and on a qualifying benefit for the double SDP to have been paid previously?

So now you and you partner should consider claiming carers allowance for helping and supervising each other to gain the value of 2x carer premiums at £34 each backdated three months.

SDP couples rate is £128.60 per week, this amount is more than the OP claims they have lost per week/month. If it is correct and they do claim CA for each other then back dating 3 months will only be possible if SDP wasn't in payment at that time.

Without knowing all the details then it's impossible to help further.

Hi She is going to a local Uni so no change in her address. there are 5 of us in a 3 bedroom home

Well both I think. We are now seen differently because she is going to uni so doesnt get a dependant payment. And we are also have our SDP removed because she is a non dependant. But we are still paying for food clothing heat etc

We have two adults, myself and my husband. MY daughter @ uni and two dependant children a boy and a girl

To get the correct information based on your situation please answer the following

What benefit/s do you and your husband receive

How old are the 2 dependant children? - if they are both under 10 then you will lose a bedroom if you remove the eldest from the household.

I was using 65% of that double SDP rate to try and match the weekly loss mentioned?

Sorry do not understand what you mean by this?

SDP is only payable if no one claims CA for looking after you. If SDP was in payment 3 months ago then CA can't be backdated 3 months.

This is why people should never rely on Q&A boards as this type of advice would lose over £700 in arrears in any means tested benefits if claimed now or the Carer Premiums worth £700 included in their previous HB calculations.

There is no reason why Carers Allowance could not be backdated three months even if the SDP has been paid or included in the previous award or calculation.

Make no mistake any backdated Carers Allowance claim DOES NOT effect any SDP previously paid?

Severe disability premium paid on top of ESA, JSA or Income support is not paid if someone claims Carers allowance for looking after someone. You can't claim both benefits, which is why I stated that CA can not be back dated if the SDP was in payment.

Of course it does. If backdated Carer's Allowance were paid the SDP would not have been payable and the DWP would then seek to recover it.
However I do agree with your statement that "This is why people should never rely on Q&A boards". Hopefully however advice can help point people in the right direction.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

What is your daughter getting or eligible for in the way of loans and other student finances? Why won't she be using this to pay her own way?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Hiya she is in a full time at degree and is at uni 9-5 everyday so no time for a job with assignments etc unfortunately.

Most students do not attend uni for these amount of hours 5 days per week. I have 2 children who are both in uni and none of them attend this often for this length of time and they both work alongside doing all their assessments.

Most students have no option but to work, alongside claiming a student loan.
