ENSTROGA a bit too ambitious?

Part of me actually feels sorry for a company like this, it seems they have taken on far too much.

It actually worked out from their crazy cheap rates that we would be saving £350 but after looking at their google reviews it seems they are a victim of their own success, high volume sales at very low prices and virtually no customer service (however I did just get through to sales immediately this afternoon)

there have been hiccups along the way, customers explaining on Google reviews for the company, who know's they may crawl out of the hole they've dug but those prices are very attractive if you are willing to put up with a young company trying to get on thier feet.

after a chat with the salesperson (who was actually very polite) they did totally admit that they've been struggling with the high volume of customers attracted by their low prices.....

just be warned, cheap is not always best, sometimes it's better to pay more now rather than later, however if you are really struggling with your finances and have time to attempt to sort things that may go wrong then fair enough, I'm still on the fence, I feel like i'm crazy even contemplating joining Enstroga but they are indeed very cheap indeed, is it really worth the possible pain to save a few quid?

Our tariff is up in the next couple of days, I may pay more and go with EDF or NPower instead as those are the two other companies that are coming up cheapest for me at the moment.

It's a personal choice but I would disagree, IMO cheapest is always best.

Half of these companies are useless, makes no difference to me. All I care about is the defined unit rate and standing charge.

Slow to answer the phone? I don't care because I never speak with these companies on the phone.

Slow to answer emails? I don't care, the energy still gets piped through to my house and there are remedies available if they start misbehaving with my bank account.

Slow to issue bills? A panacea, this is the perfect position to be in because energy used more than 12 months ago and not billed is free.

They were on my list of possibles when IRESA went bust - I'm now going for Eversmart and keeping my fingers crossed.

Generally I don't care about customer service provided they can get somewhere close with the billing.

However that said, I keep a very close eye on my bills and consumption and aim to be within about £20 of my estimate at the end of my contract which keeps it all under control. When IRESA imploded I owed them £25.50 but they would have owed some if they'd hung on a bit longer.

Being with IRESA probably saved me around £200 on what was available when I swapped to them and Evermart is over £220 less than Octopus for me, so I'm willing to put up with a bit of hassle to save money.

I'm still on the fence with Enstroga to be honest, totally agree at the end of the day all that matters is that bottom daily rate and Kwh - I may just go for it lol

one concern is though that we have solar panels, not sure if I can even sign up with them.

I do notice they say "Warm Home Discount not available with this supplier"

so I take it I can't go with them.

My deal with Eversmart (leccy only) is 11.456p/kw and 21.762p/day but as I use around 7000kwh a year the higher daily charge is offset by cheaper unit rate.

It still works out cheaper than yours though. My s/c is £23.50p/a more but as your unit cost is 1.5p/kwh higher than mine my bill would be £80 less. You might find that going for separate gas & leccy providers would save you even more.

It may also be easier to control two separate suppliers as well

If you can get a deal that costs you less than the WHD benefit then I'd reckon you'd be better off going for the cheaper deal. Paying say £180 extra to get £140 WHD will cost you £40. You need to do your sums

The fact that you've got solar panels is irrelevant - you can still get your FIT from your existing FIT provider. You dont need to change it over to another supplier.

I think if ALL companies just bloody set a "standard charge" across the board it would make things a lot damn easier and increase competition!

can someone explain (other than making it a total nightmare to work out consumption over a year) why they set different levels of standard charges per gas meters and electricity meters?
