Travel websites do no specify type of economy seats

I went ahead and booked my holiday via Expedia. At the end for flight options it let me pick Economy Light or Classic for Virgin.
I chose Economy Classic, paid for it etc.
Now in my Expedia email it says Economy Light, so they've given me the cheapest one even though I selected Economy Classic.
I will call them later on, but would I be entitled to a full refund seeing as their website is clearly at fault, appreciate all the replies.
Do you have proof that you chose that option?0 -
To be honest, you're foolish to book a flight via an agent anyway.
Far too much hassle if something goes wrong.0 -
Do you want to keep the holiday if the classic/light issue is sorted out?
Have you rung Expedia yet?0 -

You occasionally find cheaper fares on Expedia. A few years ago, I needed a one way flight to Orlando. BA direct in Economy was over £1000. I think I paid about £300 through Expedia. They were selling it as an Iberia flight.
Expedia can also be useful for itineraries involving different airlines.
But I usually book direct with the airline.0 -

I think that's a bit harsh.
It depends on the agent. There are the good and the bad. They should not all be tarred with the same brush.
The OP obviously found a flight+hotel deal that suited them and Expedia is generally considered reputable. Their buying power can also mean some very attractive savings, especially if buying a flight+hotel combination such as the OP selected.
I have found better flight deals with Netflights, Trailfinders, BA Holidays than direct on the airline sites. You just have to be careful and read and understand what you are booking.0 -

It is entirely possible that the email confirmation is wrong.
Since you chose Classic and paid for it, that is what they are legally obliged to provide. You could also involve your card issuer, although I expect that Expedia will resolve this.0 -
I grabbed a screenshot with Economy Classic selected but it isn't until the next page where I paid for the holiday.
Have you checked with Virgin? I booked BA through Expedia and it wasn't clear which type of ticket it was. I was able to log into BA using the booking reference on my Expedia account and check there. To be honest, you're foolish to book a flight via an agent anyway.

It depends on who you use. I made significant savings booking through Expedia than booking direct recently. The flights with BA would have been £220 for economy and the hotel would have been £544. Both booked through Expedia cost £516, including Eurotraveller flights (checked luggage rather than just hand luggage for economy). The saving is worth a bit of hassle if it goes wrong.0 -
I have checked with Virgin and I am on Economy Basic.
Contacted Expedia and the person I spoke to was unable to resolve my issue despite talking to his supervisor on several occasions.
They're going to call me back within 48 hours.0 -
Have you looked at cancelling? May be too late already.
Also, BA have just launched a sale. VA will probably follow.0
