If you're going down the gift card route you could check Zeek too. Sometimes it's not worth it once their fee is taken into account, but on £200 it might get you a little bit extra, particularly if it's for one of their higher % offers.

Topping up your amazon account would be the best option.
Worked for me with no probs.

ah, i see, i didn't know you can also just top up your amazon, and then keep the money on it, as opposed to buying the gift vouchers and then using them.

this is how i will do it then. do you know whether topping up is also without the cash advance fee? or is there nothing on amazon which can incur the cash advance fee? :D

    thanks much!

It's regular purchase with amex card.

I've topped up my amazon several times with different cards without any fees.

I would 'invest' in something that has a long shelf life like single malt whisky.

So, a bit of an odd question. I have the promo cashback with AMEX running until the 2nd of September.

While I've been able to use the card pretty good on getting cashback on a tumble dryer, freezer, washing machine and the usual shopping, I've "only" spent about 1800 since I took it out, and feel sorry to "waste" the last 200 xD

I don't want to buy stuff just for the sake of it, as I don't need anything at the moment.

Does anyone have any ideas? Ideally I'd like to use it as an "add funds" scenario somewhere where I'll spend it eventually, like eBay, or supermarkets, but not sure if it's possible, and I've heard that buying gift cards incurs a cash advance fee, so I obviously don't want that!

    Thanks for all the help!
Don't forget! You need to spent a minimum of £3,000 in the year otherwise you forfeit all the cashback earned, even the bonus. This doesn't have to be within the initial 90 days where you earn 5%, just over the card membership year.
