I want to get a new memory card for my girlfriends Nokia 6230, as it is only 32 mb and as she is building up photos, videos clips, ringtones etc she is rapidly running out of memory and her phone has been unable to store some files due to insufficient memory.
What memory card do I need to buy?
Does it have to be a Nokia card?
What sort of price do they go for?
Is eBay my best bet to get one?
Thanks for looking and I would appreciate any help people could give me.

Another site is the Kelkoo/MSN shopping search. The cheapest 512mb MMC from either site was around £30 (the kelkoo result included p&p, not sure about mymemory.co.uk).0 -
rs-mmc should work with anything that takes mmc as long as it has the adaptor which they usually come with0

thanks for all your help guys. I eventually bought a 256 mmc card from ebuyer for £14.85 (free p&p)

It has some reviews regarding the use in peoples 6230 so fingers crossed everything should be ok.Rock on MSE!!!0 -

This is probably a bit late for the OP but may help others.
Moby Memory sell memory cards for many mobile phones and have an excellent forum.
For the Nokia 6230 you need MMC cards see here
With a forum full of knowledge from 6230 owners here
According to the forums there people have got 2gb MMC cards to run successfully in there 6230.
I myself ordered a 256 mb RS DV MMC for my 6680 last week and it arrived next day.
I have no connection to the company and the links posted are not referrals.0 -
I agree with Gorilla on Mobymemory.com
I just bought a 1Gb card for my 6230 from them. It was pre-formatted for use in the 6230 - some cards have to be formatted using a PC with a card reader first as the phone may have trouble trying to format and recognise large MMC cards. I was worried after reading the reviews for cards on places like Ebuyer, and Moby Memory seemed pretty competitive on price.
My 1Gb card worked straight away and was fully recognised as 1Gb without any messing. Delivery was quick and as Gorillas says the company are well geared up to providing cards for mobile phones.
After converting the supplied 6230 headphones with a standard stereo headphone adapter my phone now makes a great radio and MP3 player when used with my Sony earplugs.
Cheers,
