Horns
Afternoon all
Can anyone point me in the direction of any regulations regarding vehicle horns or is it just the MOT manual?
I want to replace the horn on my bike with something loud (currently liking the ambulance/fire truck horns, not sirens) I know it needs to be a single tone.
I have no intention of using it maliciously, I don't have a loud exhaust and those are really only any good when you go past something.
Cheers

Go for a Stebel. The one on my RT is loud enough to stampede cattle and will certainly make my presence known to even the most distracted of drivers.0

The Stebel Magnum I fitted didn't last 12 months, which wouldn't be too bad if I'd tooted it more than half a dozen times, and they were when I was trying it out. Morale: always keep your receipt.
I put the original Suzuki one back on and although it sounds like Noddy's car it still works after 18 years..
If you look up reviews of the Nautilus, quite a few don't last the test out even if they are working when they arrive.
Hopefully QC has improved by several orders of magnitude....I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Never had an issue with mine. It's been on the RT for six years.0

Why not go the whole hog and fit a train horn? Might make the bike a bit cumbersome with all the associated plumbing but it would sound impressive.0 -
For MOT a purpose, the horn must work and must not sound like an emergency siren. That’s all.0
