Claim against me, no evidence

So there appears to be a claim against my insurance by a third party for a minor accident.
No police involvement and no damage report.
No cctv.
No witnesses.
Claims I bumped him and all of a sudden a week later there is a damaged bumper?
What happens next when I deny being there?
Someone has given a random name and now I'm being contacted.
He seems to must be looking moneyy

AY?
Where you there or not, or are you saying you bumped someone but no damage then a week later they had a damaged bumper?
If you hit them and you took photos at the time then you can produce them as proof.0 -
You inform your insurers.
Surely the insurer already knows?mbroderick1 wrote: »So there appears to be a claim against my insurance by a third party for a minor accident.0 -
Im saying how can someone put a claim in against you when there is no evidence of an accident taking place?
Surely I could then put a dent in my bumper and put a claim in against anyone.0 -

You could try if you wanted to, not sure why you would intentionally damage your only to try and claim for the damage of someone else to repair it...surely you would just not damage your car.
How did the other party get your details? Did you give it to them when you hit their car?0 -

They say 'ive got the details of someone who hit me and caused damage to my vehicle'.
If there is no evidence there wont be a case to answer to. Theyll need to provide enough evidence to sufficiently convince your insurer to pay out otherwise your insurer will refuse and theyll have the option of court or drop it. If they go to court, they will once again be asked to provide evidence. If they cant, it will be dismissed.
If theres no evidence of an accident then you have nothing to worry about.0 -
What constitutes as evidence?
police report? witnesses? cctv? or is the mere report to the insurance company evidence?0 -

Why not save days of messing about and give us the fully story as you know it?0 -
that is the full story. some gangster is claiming for damage to a bumper and there is no evidence that it was caused by an accident he claims happened.0
