Galaxy S6, 157 unread emails.

Woke up this morning and checked my emails to find 157 unread on a single account. An old AOL one.

Checked the date of the unread emails and they are from 2016 and 2017. Thought AOL had some glitch but when logging into the account on my desktop using Thunderbird only my new/current unread emails are showing.

Anyone come across anything like this before?

I have had random things happen after an update- check your phone to see if anything was upgraded in terms of your operating system. Depending on your settings you may have this happen behind the scenes without it needing your permission to update.

An old problem with Samsungs when using the built-in email app. Try going to settings and check that Sync is turned on, also try changing the number of days to Sync to a lower number.

No update, its a Vodafone phone that i unlocked and use on a different network so i wont update it just in case it relocks it.

This is my 3rd Galaxy phone and the first time i have had it happen. Sync is on as its still getting new emails and loads of newer emails from that same account so its just gone mad and senile.
Showing emails that have been viewed and marking them unread.

Oh my it really has gone mental.... 1224 Unread emails now... All from the same AOL account. I have lots of AOL accounts and the others are fine.
