Do you mean the remoaners who don't like democracy?
This thread has nothing whatsoever to do with leaving the EU.
Please take your political agenda elsewhere.:)

Oh no I wasn't talking about Amazon. I meant those people in 50%+ part of the country duped by Brexiteer hogwash. Amazon and a lot of others should certainly pay more tax! However losing the formidable investigative functions of the European Commission in such matters in favour of our own over stretched and underfunded tax body is unlikely to change that any time soon. Instead the cheap, quick deals will continue.

Actually it was the other way around and we were duped when we entered what was then the European Economic Community, note "Economic"!

At the age of 67 I can remember our entry to the "Common Market". There were warnings at the time which went unheeded such as "progression to a political union" "losing our sovereignty" and "increasing prices". But we dumped the commonwealth and the cheap produce including Anchor butter from New Zealand and that resulted in an increase in prices almost overnight and we all know about the progression to a political union and the sacrifice of our sovereignty.

Anyway it's a lot better to note actual recorded historical events than to regurgitate the relentless unproven and frankly ridiculous fake news!

Lastly, oh yes I support Brexit but I also support an additional national referendum on the Brexit deal or indeed no deal!

I still have leaflet they put out at the time!

Anyway, I've purchased stuff direct from the US and Japan, and I know many who purchase from China. This is all without card declines etc. So nothing to do with Brexit.

Well done on shoehorning Brexit into what started out as a non political thread ;)

I've ordered things from the German Amazon using a British credit card and billing address without any issues.

How do you ask them? I can find no phone numbers, e mail addresses or even via other media,
It was flagged up as soon as I chose the DVD, I never got as far as putting any card details.

To me that says it is an item that they are not allowed to sell in France for some reason., be it copyright, infringing French law or whatever

I have been an Amazon Prime customer since 2012. I use Amazon UK, USA and France.

Amazon US won't allow people with foreign-registered cards to buy streaming music, last time I tried. I suspect this may be an anti-fraud measure. There might also be copyright/licensing issues for things like DVDs and CDs.

I've had no problems using Amazon France but I buy things which aren't available here.

Do you have a Paypal account ? If not, I would suggest this as a way of getting around any card/currency issues. It won't stop Marketplace sellers deciding that they don't want to sell to anyone in UK or with a UK card and it won't stop copyright/licensing problems.

This kind of thing happens in UK too. My husband was unable to use his debit card,( issued in UK by an American bank, with a UK billing address) online, with a major mail order company and had probs with Marks and Spencer too, at first.

People who voted Leave have to accept that whatever was written on a bus, there are major and minor problems galore ahead if Brexit isn't stopped. The idea of spending billions un-necessarily, to stockpile drugs, for example, which will last NHS 6-8 weeks. That's not Project Fear, that's Project Reality from NHS.
