Help with this house offers :)

So basically viewed a property today that has been on market 2 days, already before i went to view today somebody else already viewed.
Fell in love with this house
It in ideal location.
So the owner said he will leave it on for 2 weeks and see what offers offers he gets
I was going to give a slightly lower offer instead of my max offer. Incase the lower one got declined but no am unsure what to do, as in 10 days am going abroad for 12 days  bad timing.
What would you do in my position ?
Thank you

Express your interest by making an offer. Ensure that you are contactable while you are away.

I think that depends on how upset you might be if it sells while you're away and you don't get a chance to make a second offer.

You say you fell in love with it, but only you can say if you're in love with it enough to go all in of if it's worth the punt to get it a little cheaper.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

This is a hard one lol
Had to be going away at this time
After a long time of waiting for a house to come up
  • EAs dont like email much. They prefer the phone so they can get a better picture of you and the situation - often they are pretty good at this and can use it to your disadvantage (just saying). I found the ones who use email more chilled and easier to deal with.

Where are you going on holiday? If it's Europe you can use your minutes in your mobile plan as if you were in the UK.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time

You're kidding. I wouldn't tell them you're going away however.
They will call you on a telex machine if you're the only offer and the buyer wants to proceed.

Make your offer, if you get countered, go back with "full and final" offer.

Also i can accept the calls abroad as i have been given a free £20 allowance by my network,
Is it best to just tell the estate agent am going abroad?
    Thanks
