No cooking at all, wants to keep kitchen nice and clean, didn't bother renting it"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I viewed one flat, bills included, where the heating controls where in a locked cupboard. Timer switch had it come on an hour a day.
Should I take the flat I shouldn't touch the cupboard or timer switch!
I didnt take the flat.0 -
Always boil all water before drinking (including for teeth-brushing).0

No - back in the day as a student I shared the gatehouse to a local manor.
Turned out the private water supply was taken from downhill of the septic tank.........
And yes, we did all get sick. Repeatedly......

I had it written into my last tenancy that I was responsible for cleaning and painting the shed. It was a third floor flat with no outside space. Never got an answer where the shed was but equally didn't have the cost of painting taken from my depositAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

The strangest one I've heard of is "no singing". Sod that. Only thing that gets me through the tedium of house work.0

When I started in the '70s it was not uncommon to see "No dogs, no Irish, no bl+cks". Thankfully largely gone.0

Not to have a water meter fitted.
It was a 4 bedroom house shared by two men, the water rates are a rip off so we checked the law and had a water meter fitted.
Not to change the telephone number?!?! I suspect a hangover from a copy and paste tenancy. When I moved in, there was no phone service at all, had to order one, so it was irrelevant.
Also to get the landlords permission to change electricity supplier. Again complete nonsense.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
I saw a room advertised on Spareroom which already had a high rent for the area but also said that the lodger would have to pay £1 each time they used the washing machine.0
