Trying to set up Xbox Live for dearest husband.
I use a DSL modem, I am with tiscali broadband, and I am trying to connect the 360 to the PC via the eathernet cable (and yes, it is wired in to both the console and the PC).
I have set up ICS (so the 360 can share the broadband connection), but I am getting nowhere!
Phoned Xbox, then Tiscali, and have been told to contact Microsoft.
Is it really this hard or am I just dim?
Is it worth it?

Hi
When you test the xbox connection where does it 'fail'
This will help identify where the prob lies..it may be something simple

Fails at the IP address.
Tiscali have said i have a dynamic IP address.
Have tried manually putting in the IP address's from the xbox live support site.
Thank you!
Is it because I am using the internet at the same time?0 -
Using the internet shouldnt matter but give it a try,

Are you using a router...and have you tried just connecting the internet straight in to the xbox...removing PC connectionThese are the Good 'ol Days just wait and see!0

On Automatic at the moment.
xbox to PC, as the modem doesn't have an ethernet port.
Think I will give up and just get a router.0 -

Right! I'm getting a router! (cos I just threw the phone at the 360 and got told off from hubby-dearest)
So whats the best one? Or rather, what router is fool proof and won't make me throw it across the room?
(don't worry, the 360 is fine, I'm a terrible aim!)0
