I am doing a professional exam and currently looking for a 24hr study location in London.
I let one of my rooms in my apartment to a friend so would prefer a place in evening to late at night to go and study outside of work.
Most universities that do operate in London 24 hrs seem to be for current grads or for alumni (I went to Warwick and Cornell, USA so out of the question). Although they do seem to offer external membership for research needing access (I could qualify as do consulting work projects that could require) but seems access is only for normal hrs not 24hrs. Are there any that would work?
Other options have looked at some 24hr places like co-work places such as WeWork , centralworking , spacesworks etc. All look good but slightly pricey for just amount of time I need few hrs each night and not sure how good they would be to study. Although I understand some people use as authors etc but feel most financial justification for paying those rates would be those entrepreneurs etc actually using place to run their side businesses etc.
So any options anyone can recommend?

I don't know of anywhere 24 hours but the Barbican is a great place to sit and work and is open until 11pm.
After that I think Wework starts at £200 / month? It would definitely be a good place to study but I agree it's a lot.
A lot of gyms are 24 hours and have wifi. Maybe a local one has someplace to sit too?0

Asking your friend to be quiet for a couple of hours each evening, or wearing earplugs, might be the cheapest and easiest option?0

Unfortunately 11pm is not late enough. Sometimes work up to 2am etc. Need a place 24hrs.
Love 24hr gyms and often can find myself odd night at midnight or 1am - good to work that time as quiet and gym free to access equipment. However, when I go am in gym mood and not study/business mood. Also trying to study would be impossible setting up a table like that and not comfort/environment needed.
Would love a 24hr nice library. Took them for granted when undergrad and postgrad.
So far going to have to consider a place like WeWork. Some can be pricey between £250 and £350 or eben £450+/month. Some do look good and have found some off peak co-work (between 5pm and 10am - perfect for late evening and late night workers) offering discount rate for those hours that actually meet my times for under £120 a month.Asking your friend to be quiet for a couple of hours each evening, or wearing earplugs, might be the cheapest and easiest option?
Not really an option. As I already have a office set up in living room and sometimes working late in evening with other work. So those times feel my tenant is already trying to avoid living room to sit at table/cooking/relaxing watching big screen in room etc. So pushing those times to all night would be unjust. Friend is paying good money for the spare room (close to £900/month) so only fair they feel relaxed and at home. Tenant is too polite to say anything and do not want tenant to feel pushed to their bedroom.
If no other option then I can just chip away at some of their rental room income and spend a little on co-work space.
Just interested to know if any libraries or other options to consider?'Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway'

So would I actually. Do let us know if you do find one!
I do think that there must be a lot of students who never go to the library and would consider loaning you their card for a few pounds. How you'd find such students is another matter.0

Interesting thought. Interestingly I know LSE have some great libraries (as expected) as have a colleague from work who went there and said he only visited library a handful of times. Had looked at considering signing up for a cheap part time small course (online but gave access to library) but not seen anything suitable meeting criteria of price and duration.
Shame as there are some beautiful university libraries in London not utilised that could be for working professionals needing at night.
So far a 24 hr co-work place might be my only option? Guess they do have advantages of some have unlimited soft drinks/fresh coffees/snacks included etc.'Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway'

Interestingly, some of our local (non-academic) libraries now offer 24 hour access via a card system - no staff available, obviously, and what it would be like to try and work there in the wee small hours I have no idea! Come the winter, I can't believe they'd be heated 24/7.
Is returning to your place of work a possibility?Signature removed for peace of mind0

No the alarms go on at night. Just surprised London would not have a 24hr library for professionals to use.'Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway'

Are there any all night cafes where you could tuck yourself away in a corner?Signature removed for peace of mind0

There are some 24 hr restaurants/cafes/hotel business seating areas, but none I would consider comfortable environment set up for 3-4 hrs solid study. Those places are fine doing an hour or so work project on laptop but not environment for me for several hrs study.
I'm taking a study advantage of this long weekend bank holiday as my tenant has gone to Iceland until Monday night.'Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway'
