  • I too am size and my feet are very wise, in fact for a long time I wore Doc Marten boots or trainers all the time as I couldn't get anything else to fit. Have you thought about a pair of Crocs? They are wide anyway, mine are a ladies 8/mens 10 and are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. I am a nurse so spend a lot of time on my feet. I got mine from the states and with the xchange rate as it is, you should do well. Try Taylor shoes.com and if you order a few pairs (see if friends want some) it makes the postage worthwhile.

I have wide feet and have to wear insoles too which puts me firmly up the creek without much of a paddle!
I would try Hotters www.hottershoes.com they have some nice styles even in their wider fittings although you have to have a sort thru. They are in some independent shoe shops and have their own shops in Bournemouth and the north of England but mostly mail order. They will happily exchange if shoes don't fit.
Otherwise Clarks do do some good styles now super comfortable and M&S do a wider fitting although not very wide.
My daughter also has v wide feet and size 8 and she uses Evans. I will tell her about New Look.
Good luck and once you find a good pair go back after a week or two and get another to keep in the cupboard!

I would concur with currantbun in that Crocs are the most comfortable shoes I have ever ever worn (if you don't wear them with socks) and I would suggest you try these, they're like wearing a pair of slippers, better in fact

I don't think we are allowed Crocs technically as they don't cover the whole heel but I'm sure there are one or two people that wear them.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that contributed to this thread, it has helped me loads and I'm sure it will help even more people looking back at this thread in the future.
I found some shoes today, got them from TKMaxx. They cost £35 which is more than I wanted to spend but they were really comfy which was the main thing. I actually got them from the mens section, they are similar to the ones I had before. I got them in a size 9 though.

I have tried some wider fitting shoes from New Look before that haven't fit and also some from M&S that haven't fit either. My feet are really wide so the wider fit styles in shops still don't fit which is why I have always been reluctant to buy online with shoes and clothes.

Anyway, am pleased with my shoes so thanks to all once again.

IF you are within reach of / ever having a holiday near Portsmouth, you could have a look in the Ecco outlet shop at Gunwharf Quays shopping centre- they sell shoes for about £45 instead of £70 as a rule of thumb. Eccos are brilliantly comfortable, and do seem to last really well too - I wore my last pair almost every day for about 5 years (outside the boots / sandals seasons, so probably about 2 whole years?)

i don't know if there are any other outlet shops elsewhere - somebody on this site must! Also I don't know if you would call them fashionable - funky possibly - but if they're for work maybe that's less important anyway?

There's also http://www.plusinboots.co.uk. As the name suggests, they specialise in boots, but do some shoes too.P&P is a bit steep, but sometimes if needs must.....
Good luck-wide feet are the bane of my life!
