Hello,

Back February time i got a private parking ticket that i never paid. This is due to the car park being known for giving tickets but no one ever paying and nothing ever happening. ( i have done this before and so have multiple friends.) I had originally brought a ticket i was just 5/10 minutes late back to my car and in the time i was ticketed.

Anyway i hadn't heard anything from them apart from a letter from ZZPN which i also ignored (after reading many forums saying to) and now i have received a letter from bridgegate legal whoa re saying i need to pay a £306 fine (this is with a administration fee and if i don't pay in time it will be increased). i have tried googling the company to see if i cant find any information but there isn't anything. i also received a email saying that if i don't pay they will pass it on to carry out a door collection.

i just don't know if this is legit so can i have some help please?

I have now received an email from bridge gate legal that says if they don't hear from me then they will be passing my account onto a field collection agency who will call to my property to collect a payment before court proceedings? I'm quite scared and not sure on what to do. Also i still with my parents so i don't own any property so are they able to come round?

thanks

Sounds like they are just acting as debt collectors. No-one is going to turn up at your door. Can you scan/photograph the letter and post it up (suitably redacted of personal information and any reference numbers)? That would make it clear whether it's just another debt collection (to be ignored) or something more.

    Hi and welcome.

If you have used your real name as your forum username you would be well advised to get it changed to something more anonymous.

To do that, read this short extract from The MSE Forum Guide - Frequently Asked Questions & Rules:
    Q. How can I change my username?

    A.
In most circumstances, this is not permitted.

The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.

If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.

Read this thread over on PePiPoo where I did a bit of digging just today as to who/what Bridgegate are. One thing for sure is they ain't Solicitors, secondly, they can't spell, thirdly I'd ignore them because they are debt collectors.

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=122371

Don't know how you failed to find them on Google - first hit for me.

Are Elite Management (Midlands) the PPC they are pursuing on behalf of?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You have to give it to these bods, trying extortion tactics
    and lying to you.

    http://www.bridgegatelegal.co.uk/about-us.html

You can see they are debt collectors who say they
have been in business for 40 years ????

What they don't understand is the parking scam and
how silly debt collectors simply cannot do anything.

Having ZZPS involved tells us you are being scammed,
it's all part of the shameful Wright Hassall solicitors set up

IN THEIR DREAMS if they think they can increase it.
IN THEIR DREAMS if they say you will get a doorstep collector
IN THEIR DREAMS if they think you owe £306, you don't

It's all part the scam, details being passed from one plebbie
to another increasing as it goes along.

Who is the parking company because only they can take it
further, not ZZPS, not bridgegate or any other chancer
who cares to have a pop at you

£306 is extortion and if this for for one alleged breach of contract, and thi ese are genuine solicitors report them to the SRA,

    http://www.sra.org.uk/home/home.page

They should be aware that this is a scam

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

    http://parliamentlive.tv/event/index/2f0384f2-eba5-4fff-ab07-cf24b6a22918?in=12:49:41 recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Not real solicitors. They are part of Bridgegate Financial Services (Liverpool), I have seen one of their begging letters reduce £262 to £50, new to PPC's.

If they are new to PPC's they had better watch their step
before they get a bad name, just like the other dodgy money
scammers who use "legal" in their name

bridge gate legal MUST BE ON THE FUNNY STUFF ????

They are only debt collectors themselves and I have a vision
of some field operative hanging around street corners
wearing a dirty mac, a hat and sunglasses ?

Of course they can't, it's not even been to court and Bridge
Gate ARE NOT JUDGE AND JURY.

    They sound very desperate

Show the letter to your MP, let him tell them how stupid
    they are.

If they did this, you call the police
