Today was a little bit spendy, whoops
I had a few bits we had run out of at home so I had to get those.

I may have also bought myself some clothes. I bought a pair of jeans and a top but they came from my budget and no credit cards were used. I thought very carefully about which things to buy and which I would get the most wear out of. The truth is I have put a lot of weight on recently and seriously have nothing to wear now the weather is turning cooler. I am out with friends on Friday night and just needed something smart/casual. I obviously made the choice to buy these clothes but I am pleased with how carefully I deliberated over what would be the best buys - and I didn’t buy the shoes I really liked!

Tomorrow we are meeting friends for a picnic and a local play area so should be fairly cheap. We have picnic stuff so only parking to pay and maybe a hot chocolate for me!

Getting the pots right is a juggling act and you don't realise it until it comes up and you have no money for it. I've opened up loads of savings accounts and renamed them and then I'm planning on putting the money across weekly. We will get there eventually. Any money left over from the bathroom could go to birthday boy/Christmas fund.
As for Amazon at the time of their big events they do 20% Amazon warehouse deals usually. I just go mad for that. Half the time you don't see anything wrong with the item and the kids never notice damage to the box - they are too busy opening it xxx

Thanks for that info about amazon, I didn’t know that?
How do you know when it is happening?

Today I didn’t £8 but for that the kids were occupied all day. We went to meet friends at a national forest place. £3 to park all day. We took a picnic and games and they were all happy with each other playing in the playground, in the fields and in the woods. I spent £5 on extra drinks as we all finished them and it was a warmer day than we expected.

I think something I have been overspending on is top up shops. I hadn’t realised how often I do it. The weekly shop was a good price but I have spent far too much buying extras I either forgot or we’ve run out of.

Well it’s officially the last day of my holidays today. What am I doing? Going in to work of course! Got to make sure my classroom looks nice and inviting for next week.

I will be glad to get back to work from a money saving point if view. I think I spend less money and I also don’t have the kids to entertain.

Next week’s target is to do less top up shops! I seem to have popped in somewhere nearly every day this week and it adds up so much. I must plan better next week.

  • It is amazing how much time it takes to get the classroom ready. Hope your day is as productive as possible.

I now send my older kids to the shops to do top up shops. They only get what I tell them to get so saves me money!! I'm lucky in that we live a 1 minute walk from two small supermarkets so I can send the kids!

  • I am quite pleased though because it is looking like I may actually finish this month without using credit cards or dipping into my savings?
