All sorted. The german friend rang them. It was a mistake, they misread one of the letters.0

So it wasn't a fake or a scam ... as suggested earlier it was an error.
Germany will have their own version of the GDPR ... you might want to contact the people who sent the "invoice" to get your details removed as they no longer have any reason to retain them.0 -

If it wasn't you reply sayiing it wasn't. Do you have evidence of being somewhere else (i.e. work clock ins etc.) Quite possible your car reg has been cloned.0
