Vodafone/Bt Issue

Options
Hey all,

So I recently bought a house and moved in 2 weeks ago. In preparation I took out a broadband connection so that it would be activated just after moving in to the house.

Background:

May - took out the order with Vodafone with date as far in future and possible
June - Change date to exact date moving in giving 8 weeks notice.

August - I get in touch 3 days before to ask why router has not arrived, to be told that EE had a cease on the line.

Move in day: Rang EE to have cease removed, was told 7 days. Nothing I could do at this point.

August 13th: Order placed, told to wait 3 days for the new activation date. I ring 4 days later to get told BT now had to decide an activation date this could take 3 more days.

Ring up 4 days later to be told they another 3 days to confirm the date. Get a call (5 days later), to be told that we now have no active phone line. I plugged a phone in while they were on the phone and gave them the phone number to prove it was active.

They then rang BT to get told there was no phone line and would have to now scout out the possibility of new phone line (Vodafone are hoping they will realise when at the box it is active and fix the issue). So its now at least another 2 weeks.

Has anyone else had this issue before or have a way to speed up the issue as I'm a teacher who is really struggling to get lessons planned for next year which is now only 2 weeks away.

I did look into Virgin as there is no need for BT but they aren't in our area.

Any suggestions helpful.

What have 'BT' got to do with this ?, your order is with Vodafone, and presumably the previous occupant of the property was an EE customer, so BT are involved how ?

If Vodafone are saying 'BT' when they mean Openreach, then their customer service agents need better training, if you are using 'BT' because you think BT and OR are interchangeable , then that's wrong.

If you have moved in and the previous occupant didn't advise their provider EE that he or she was moving out, then obviously it's going to affect (delay) you getting service....if the previous occupant was inside a minimum term with EE , they may have deliberately not told EE to delay early termination charges, or perhaps they just forgot to.

If Vodafone deal correctly, they will try and take the line, but have to wait while a letter from EE is sent to the address , saying someone trying to takeover the line, obviously the letter goes unanswered because it's addressed to the previous occupant but comes through your letter box....after ( 10 days I think) Vodafone can takeover the line, if EE don't stop the changeover, and because the letter was unanswered , they won't ( or shouldn't )
