Posting on this thread as some of the posts here are making me twitchy about a expected cancellation request - especially Soolin's post#6.

Had a someone buy one of my items and pay (Paypal), but shortly after ask me a question - looks like they bought the wrong version, so I expect they'll be asking to cancel. Item hasn't been posted yet.

Am I to understand that if I use the eBay option to cancel the sale because of buyer change of mind, eBay will take this as me trying to do an off-eBay sale and possibly suspend me???

eBay are a law unto themselves, however cancelling a sale with the comment 'buyer requested' should be fine.

Thanks Soolin. Hopefully since I plan to relist after the cancellation, that should give me some credibility in eBay's eyes.

The fact you say the buyer asked after he had purchased should be fine. It's asking before you buy that gets you all in trouble.

I recently bought an item from a seller which I didn't receive, he's been getting a lot of negatives for items not received. I opened a case and he refunded me about a week later.

I'm guessing as he refunds he gets no defects, as in the last month he received around 8 negatives but is still happily trading.

Yes, no defects for a seller resolved case. It's when they don't refund and you have to escalate that they get a defect. No defects for negative feedback either.
