data sim without monthly cut-off?

Most of them don't expire, the simple credit that you top up. It's only the 30 day 'bundles' that expire - you don't have to buy them. For example Three PAYG and O2 Classic PAYG charge 1p/MB on topped up credit that doesn't expire.Evolution, not revolution0

thankyou for these responses, that sim on ebay looks good. I already have a payg sim with 02 so I'll try that too for data use/cost. The payg works out at 1Gb for £10. Thanks again.0

For DATA the Smarty SIM would still work out cheaper. Is £5 per month for unlimited calls/texts and £2.50 on top for 2GB of data for that month. BUT, once ordered you do not need to enrol in the £5 call/text pack on the SIM. You can turn auto renew off and just top up data that is priced at £1.25 per 1 GB that never expires.
So just buy the data when you need it online once got the SIM. Can tether no problem or just use in data device. So £30 would get you 24 GB data - better than the ebay deal.
You can search for a referral and get 1 month free (free 2GB data / free unlimited calls/texts - even if do not need calls/texts) or email me and can send you one.'Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway'

That's all sounded very interesting as I've also need of a data only sim tethered when I'm visiting a place.
...until that is I checked and smarty uses the 3 network and I already know that in this location the 3 network is non functional inside. Actually in other parts of the village it is totally non functional outside as well. Yup its a sh*t network.
As ever then check the coverage/backhaul situation for where you want to use it as well as the sim offer0 -

Certainly need to check coverage. Can even get a free Three data SIM if order online
https://www.three.co.uk/Free_SIM_MBB/Order
Then just register is free and you will get free 200 MB data a month. Can use that to try the Three network in area you intend to be, if known and for that purpose. Then if all good can get SMARTY.
Coverage is about 98% of UK. I have never had a problem in London and all areas I visited outside London.'Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway'
