Hi I have my phone and BB with Virgin and want to change asap. Stupid question: do i have to get a new "supply" cable installed or can I just get the new company to use the existing set up, as per gas and electric?

Virgin use different cabling. It maybe that your property had an old telephone line used by a previous occupant? If not then you would need a new line.0

Nobody can use Virgin's infrastructure but them, any other supplier will use either the copper pair telephone line that enters the property or possibly (depending on area) they may install a new fibre to the premises connection (presuming there isn't already one there, not Virgins though).0

Thought so.If I were to switch to say BT and they installed a new cable, would that be ok in the future if I then wanted to switch to another supplier?0

Yes, I presume you don't have a telephone cable coming in then?
BTW, it's Open Reach who'll install the line if required regardless of who you use for BB.0 -
Basics are VM cable only VM.
BT OR cable multiple ISPs use .
Not many properties do not have a BT cable supply .0
