Sorry had to go out .. but seems conversation carried on the vain I was pointing to-
So Mortgage Hero a user of this site suggested you find an adviser from mortgagehero.com !!!! no conflict there then
Not sure if they are also advisers, if so had to choice take it themselves or pass on ( their site implies the usual fee to brokers is £30 a lead).. so before you even speak to the new broker , the case owes him , he might still be a great adviser but perhaps if he had not paid for the business ( and for others taht lead to no where) he might be able to share some of his commission with you- so in effect you might be paying for the introduction ( multi-fold)
I for example used to take leads from an estate agent , these I paid for ( although only those that completed business) for business when I did not have an introducer I often sweetened the deal for the client instead
Ok this arguement goes to some degree for all types of advertising , although again a lot of good established advisers don't advertise in the traditional sense either
Leon of course puts a good case forward for why sometimes its an acceptable route for advisers to buy leads , but I would suggest thats not the general case ( same goes for those firms with a high advertising budget)Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

I'm Reminded of my first job in insurance in the 70's, two days of going out with the assistant manager and listening to his pitch I was told to go out on my own.
Bag of nerves I was, and never got out the car all night. Went round my mates who'd introduced me to the job and asked him how the hell can I sell endowments to folks who know more about them than I do?
Dont talk daft he said, come round here in the moning and i'll sort you out.
Next day we went to the libary and brought the electoral rolls for my patch for about £10. I suppose they still do, I dont know but back then they showed the name and date of birth for everyone in the household who was 18 that year.
Now go and talk to those guys he said, they know less than you.
Sold about 40 endowments the following week more than the rest of the office put together.
