Can I use my Virgin Box without a Subscription for pre-recorded programmes?

I am in the process of moving and I would like to know (because VM are useless when i called them) if I can use my Virgin Box without a Subscription for pre-recorded programmes or once I leave do they cut it all off??

yeah i spoke with them yesterday and said that because my box is old they wont ask for it back, but surely it is just a hard drive with recordings I can access right?0

Without a refresh signal from VM the box will not replay stored recordings. I have an old TiVo box that they didn’t want back that I wanted to catch up on stored recordings but it deactivated itself.0

With no subscription cable connection, your decoder will be simply a doorstop. None of your old recordings will remain accessible unless you resubscribe.0
