I believe some of the people giving advice on the forums work for the Parking companies themselves...

That might be the case as we have seen on some threads, but I do not believe Martin Lewis and the MSE board guides do this. I do think though that they do not know as much as some of the regulars here, hence the dreadful advice on the "official" forum to give away the driver's identity.

MSE Callum ... not sure if you fully understand this.

Yes the 2 ATA's do have their own code of practice
    which are abused.

The government will have it's own code of practice
which will override the codes which we hope will
be a law apposed to the unregulated situation at present

Precisely so. The whole private parking industry is unregulated. It's a bit like the "honour among thieves" idea in my opinion, and about as legitimate.

Don't people know how to follow parking rules, and understand customer only car park - happens near me a local Tesco is right next to the shopping centre, I want to go there for shopping - parking full, most are shopping elsewhere.

Suppose no different to those that speed, get caught and moan about it (Yes I go above, when caught it's my fault).

Do you mean the ones that PPCs design that are so heavily weighted in their favour, that when those rules run out of a bit of steam (income!) they change them so that income levels are restored?

Or do you mean the ones (via signs) that suddenly appear on residential estates where homeowners, parking on their own property, are facing hundreds, sometimes thousands of pounds in speculative charges that they have to defend through the court system - can take 2-3 years out of their lives?

Or do you mean those that fall foul of a bit of photo doctoring, to snare motorists who have not breached any rule, but the operative simply alters the time stamps on the photos to 'prove' an overstay?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3229165/Is-PROOF-private-parking-firms-scamming-motorists-Drivers-say-timings-photos-doctored-legally-parked-cars-issued-fines.html

Or what about the cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy who are in a state of immense anxiety, whose treatment extends beyond their parking time who fall into the clutches of the parking attendant who is being pushed harder and harder on targets ..... at Christmas time?
A text message sent to wardens before Christmas urged them to increase 'key performance indicator' scores, industry terminology for the number of tickets issued. It read: 'To all wardens, you all should be working extra hard this week to max your kpi' Give them sites a good banging

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2711460/Give-sites-good-banging-The-wardens-3k-bonuses-urged-bosses-issue-scores-parking-tickets-day.html

Or do you mean the severely disabled woman, who despite all the evidence put to the parking company, was hounded for weeks so that the PPC could snatch her coin, until we got involved.

    http://www.real-fix.com/health/severely-disabled-woman-stunned-to-be-given-a-parking-fine-after-her-wheelchair-sank-into-sand/

Were it all as simple as you make out!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Don't people know how to follow parking rules,

Like people who get clocked by ANPR where the clock starts before the parking event, and keeps running after the parking event, then drive around looking for a parking space (which judges have repeatedly said isn't parking), then read the signs, and pay, and still get a PCN from an UNREGULATED parking company because the PPC has obtained keeper details in breach of their trade association's code of practice.

Like people who are refused access to alternative dispute resolution because the PPCs have a made up rule that they don't have to comply with an Act of Parliament.

Like people who are denied access to alternative dispute resolution where byelaws apply.

Don't parking companies know how to follow parking rules? Well actually they do, but deliberately don't do so because they wouldn't make any money if they did.

Thought the law changed a while back, and 'parking firms' can issue invoices, and if u don't pay, they add on charges, and eventually, u end up on telly on that "cant pay, we take it away" show ?????

So all BS invoices are enforceable, as I understand that is ??
