Hi Moneywhizz, thanks for dropping by.
So, I've had a week or so of debt free joyNow I do need to have some plans for the next bit.
I started this diary because of the shock of a redundancy threat at work. For now they're saying that's off the table, but I'm not entirely convinced that there won't be another round of redundancies within a year. I have been moved into another department with a different manager, different colleagues and different working practices. To be honest this is quite stressful; I feel as if my foundation has been moved and I've got a lot of new stuff to get used to.
I've seen on here a lot of people follow Dave Ramsey, so I've been watching him on youtube. I am hookedI really like his straight talking style. I never really got to grips with budgeting over this last year, so I've started to use DR's every dollar budgeting tool and I'm liking it so far.
Babystep 3 is a bigger emergency fund. DR recommends 3 - 6 months expenses, but I think to feel truly comfortable and relaxed I want 12 months of expenses and living money in the bank. I'm also thinking of moving within the next year, so I want some savings for that.
So, my next challenge is £15000 emergency fund and moving savings
And off we go
