  • So, I managed 2 no spend days last week, more by chance than design. I've been going to the supermarket after work on a few days to have a look for whoopsies, but other things ended up in the basket too. I've come straight home from work today, so 1 no spend day so far this week.

I really need to work on meal planning a bit more. There's only me so you'd think it would be easy, but I think I've got a bit lazy about it - it doesn't seem worth cooking for one most of the time and takeaways have filled the gap.

I've paid everything I'm going to pay this month, and I have a bit of money left to see me through till payday, so I'm starting to think about next month's budget now. I also need to concentrate on the £5 a day challenge now and make £62 by the end of September. I'm off to do a bit of moneymaking and look for some ideas.

  • Hi pidge, I'm getting better with the no spend days. It's certainly making me think about what I'm buying and plan more. It's also making me realise how much 'shopping' I do just to fill time.

Payday today, so the money shuffle has started. I do now have some spare credit as I've cleared one card with a small limit, but I really, really want to keep that as an emergency fund and make some extra money to pay what's left of the bills and live through the month. I can see a lot of no spend days on the horizon :)

It's been a while since I've been here on my diary, but I think I need to come back to keep myself focused and moving forward.

The work situation is still unresolved - it's taking as long as Brexit! I've relaxed and spent money; then panicked and still spent money. The debt is going down, but not fast enough; the emergency fund is also going down on things that aren't really emergencies, so definitely more discipline is needed.

  • Thanks pidge. Hope everything's ok with you.

I've made a start on clearing, cleaning and organising. It's going to take a bit of time, but I think it will help me to keep on top of my finances in the long run.
  • I'm trying to motivate myself to sort this debt out. I've started a personal 100 day challenge to sort this debt out once for all and I'm hoping that will keep me focused.

Today, I've started a couple of claims through resolver - I don't think they'll come to anything, but I'm giving it a go anyway.

I've done some surveys and other online things to make a bit of money - I'm reminding myself that it all adds up.

I've used a £5 off voucher and gift card balance to buy some things from Amazon that I'll use over the next couple of months.
  • Good luck with your challenge :) x
