  • Saturday's food shop at Ocado on Saturday came to £31.33 by the time I had minused the non-food spends.

I haven't spent anything since then apart from tonight at work, I got two three pack of peppers, two trays of six apples and a punnet of mushrooms for 79p.

Off to Aldi again tomorrow, so I am hoping to keep it low, maximum £30. Hopefully this will mean I am under and still have bits to see me into the start of the month.

    Off to tot up.
GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £76.30/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. One person vegan household with occasional visitors)

  • Morning everyone! Just catching up and am still amazed at all the low totals rolling in. Well done. My last two days have been NSDs. OH and I are leaving on a weekend trip this afternoon and will return on Sunday evening. I'll buy some train snacks today before we leave such as nuts and cheese and will add those to my total later tonight.

@thriftwizard, just like you, I'll be about €35 over for the month. This is the highest total I've ever had and am feeling a certain way about it. The best thing we can do is sit and evaluate how to do it better next month.

    TOTALS SO FAR:
    10/12 NSD
    €526.78/€500.00

    7th Aldi £70.65 main shop
7th coop £12.28 for massive bag of YS items as store closing
7th Asda £62.21 stuff Aldi don't sell plus cat litter/dummies - mostly stock cupboard items

11th Tesco £4.80 cat litter and bread
14th Aldi £115.09 bigger than normal as had housewarming BBQ so lots of meat and drinks
14th Asda £20.79 stuff Aldi don't have (rolls for BBQ, laundry basket)
    20th Aldi £15.51
22nd Asda £92.51 combining food shopping with waiting whilst hubby had a procedure and no Aldi/Lidl near the hospital so much more than would normally spend, but includes few items clothing for baby and 3 boxes of wipes normally £9-12, on offer at £6
23rd Aldi £7.07 needed a lightbulb and got few spares and flour
24th Aldi £53.83 shop for the week to last till Friday

Total of above £474.06 added to previous £32.57 is £506.63 which is over budget but not bad considering baby clothes and wipes which will last ages and housewarming party. But still have one more ship but will do as frugally as possible!

  • I did declare totals, but then totally lost the plot. Went clothes shopping a couple of days ago. Checked the veggie stall n got sweet potatoes, 6 avocados and a few large boxes of posh mixed salad with bulls blood leaves, I mean who can resist a bit of bulls blood leaves when given the chance. I then went Sainsbury's to see if they had free from cheese - nope - ended up stocking up on 2 jars of Vegeniase (it aint cheap) n some free from garlic n herb cheese spread, Yes, this is me clothes shopping. Finally arrive at clothes shop. Today, decide to go Asda to get their soya milk. Its a bit of a trek, but I had a few hours to kill n bulk buy it, as it's the highest percentage of soy beans out of all makes - so now you know. Needless to say, bought some free from cheese. Then trot to B&M, oooh is that black pepper with red berries, well I never, bought 3, plus a load of other stuff, couldn't leave out Home Bargains - oh no!!! Morello cherries, blah blah, more bleedin stuff, plus a few Crimbo prezzies, afterall it is nearly Xmas. Anyway. Not gone over(ish), but have nearly rinsed my bulk fund. Oh well, it is there for that reason n it's all stuff that I use, apart from the cherries. That really is me done. Have a lovely w/e everyone.
  • Since last post we have spent £14.08.

Vegetable stew with GF bread for dinner later for me.
OH has lasagne for dinner later.

    £189.99/£195.
    £5.01 left.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

  • Oh dear, Onebrokelady & Stoopy, wishing you calmer times ahead!

I have no such excuse, but am declaring for September nearly £45 over, at £424.90. I'm still struggling to work out exactly why... but some of it was just plain inattention. I may have to enlarge my bulk-buy fund as I've cleaned out the other store cupboard today & had to throw out a lot more packets that had been nibbled or otherwise damaged. The flipside though is that everything's had a thorough audit, I know what's in there & where it is, and should be able to plan more effectively.

  • £27.71 spent today making £90.29/£240. My new month starts on Friday but I'm not declaring yet as I might need a few bits tomorrow

My new month starts today so I'm declaring at £90.29/£240 - not as good as it sounds as we had a week away but still worked out at about £30 per week which I'm really pleased with :)
  • Final big shop, which included household items too (Lidl middle aisle!) £81. Sig updated, thanks!
